Implementation and Control

The competencies that I was able to develop from researching and writing the comprehensive project was from the knowledge that I gained along with the skills, and abilities from utilizing AIU’s resources such as from the library, textbook, muse, the internet as well as, feedback from classmates and Dr. Henderson which entailed a major role in my research as well. I’ve learned to do broad research in the global industry enhancing a business plan that stands out. Being creative is the key to succeed. Welcoming diversity, and ethical standards, moral principles, laws of other countries is important to understand and adopt for continued success. The competency in self-management played into working towards the goals to get the project done in a timely manner. Our group played a part in feedback and options, and suggestions to come up with a plan to get ToolsCorp expanded with more success and to use this research for future businesses. Supportive teamwork has been very beneficial and uplifting in gaining research by getting together communicating and utilizing unlimited resources in getting the assigned tasks from the project completed.
The ways that I leveraged knowledge that was gained from Intellipath units 1-4 in completing the comprehensive project was reading the details from the assigned topics, testing, gaining more knowledge in strategic management, scanning environments, formulation strategies, analysis etc. I took advantage from the cites and references to use as related to the project. From Intellipath, I gained more knowledge because I was able to get an understanding on a certain topic by studying it to use towards my project and for the future in management.
These competencies and knowledge will support my career advancement in management because now I know what to look for when it comes to management. Such as, all the provided tools and programs that I’ve learned which was just a steppingstone for my success. I’ve learned management roles such as, planning, organizing, effective communication, rewarding, teamwork, decision making just to name a few. So, I will take what I’ve learned and do my best to achieve managing more businesses overseas.
The important elements of strategy are the goals, vision, mission. Other elements are the core values, objectives, strategy, approach, and tactic. The goals are usually set before the vision entailing the achieved vision. The vision identifies the goals for the staff on a continued basis. The mission describes the organization to the stakeholders, and consumers. The core values define the beliefs of the company. Objectives are the specifics to reach goals within the time frame supported by strategic initiatives. Strategy are long term plans to achieve the objectives within the organization. Approach entails providing a methodology to execute your strategy. Tactics are focused initiatives, and programs for the plan. They are important because it’s a way that your business can be a success. Having a plan lets people know such as your staff to understand the goals and how they can take part in it.

The competencies I developed while researching and writing the course include critical thinking, communication, organizing skills, managing my time, knowing how difficult it is doing business around the world, taking risks. My research and writing skills were also developed. I was able to brainstorm and think about what area can benefit the expansion of the business.
I leveraged the knowledge gained in the intellipath by applying it into the project. The concepts I learned helped me to assume I was in a real-life situation writing a business strategy. I was able to know who my audience is, demographics and price strategies.
These competencies will support my career advancement by helping me to be an effective leader that would make better decisions. I know now that I need to collect as much information as possible before making a strategic decision. Knowing advantages and disadvantages of the options I have available will help me make the right decision.

What are the important elements of strategy? Why?
There are several elements that are in play for a strategy. It includes:
Defining the direction and goal for which the company is going
Determine the beneficial way to assign resources so that goals can be achieved.
Create a competitive advantage
Monitor the progress and adjust where it is needed.
Identify the strength and weakness of the company
Develop action plans.

What Are the Components of a Strategic Plan?

Performing the Unit 5 Group Project helped me and my team members develop organizational skills to submit the paper in a timely fashion. Develop a strategic method for attacking all requirements of the assignment. Units 1-4 presented valuable pieces of each deliverable in the Group project. Scholarly research on our part, analyzing all data provided in discussion boards or when attempting the Intellipath assignments. Use global countries that offered opportunities for growth or maybe limited growth. Assets, very little legal implications or resources and how technology or communication affected their overall success.
Properly assessing the task or goal(s) at hand. Communicating the plan and any changes (involuntary or voluntary) to all involved parties. Allocating the resources in a manner that ensures the plan/ goals are met according to the scheduled timeframes. Ensuring that the goals are reasonable and can be captured/ measured. And finally a way to improve through the capturing of feedback at the completion of the project. (N.d., 2023)
Not accurately capturing potential pitfalls leaves the opportunity for setbacks. Those could be major or minor, depending on their weight in regards to the plan. It could be costly and time consuming. Shareholders or stockholders may draw back or withdraw, further complicating the situation. Resources may dwindle away faster than anticipated. Maintaining that constant communication ensures that minor issues are caught early on and addressed. Rather than them having the snowball effect, something small grows out of control. And at this point, you have no choice but address it.

All the elements of strategy are important. A few elements of strategic planning are vision and mission. These are important because it shows the culture of the organization. Every executive summary should create a sense of long-term value from past to present. (Dess. 2020.) SWOT analysis, core values, goals, objectives, and action plans are also important elements. These elements create the goals and objectives and give a competitive advantage.
Composing and working on ToolCorp’s strategic plan is giving me the knowledge I need to understand the difference between and business plan and a strategic business plan. Developing an executive summary and working through the SWOT are competencies working through.
